Project OverView
Elliv is an annual concert for Cedarville University, whose name comes from flipping the spelling of 'ville, as an abbreviation for Cedarville, into Elliv. The show is meant to close off the students' year and capture a piece of their energy in a well-organized show. This year's theme was mosaic; an analogy reflecting not only the show's nature of variety within the songs selected, but also focusing on the students' different backgrounds and lives all brought together on the campus like a beautiful mosaic.
The Process
I served as the creative director for this event, managing aspects such as design and marketing, both digitally and in a physical environment, creating branding, guidelines, and assets for the show. Our team even utilized a large-scale custom floor mosaic to represent the coming show, reminding students of the incoming event.
For this project, I met with the event director, determined some of the primary focuses, and from there built out a brand identity that would best represent the theme of mosaic. I drafted out a lot of sketches, analyzed colors, considering the specific needs of the event, before creating a visual identity for the show.
From there, I worked with other members of the marketing team, a social media manager, and the videography team leader to build a marketing plan to schedule theme announcements, audience-engaging reels, VIP ticket releases, and ticket raffles. We analyzed the audience demographics, interests, and needs to find the best way to reach our audience. We created an engaging plan and saw excellent audience results, even helping to sell 15% more tickets than previous shows. On the night of, the show featured our custom-created pre-show lighting and branding, and further in-show assets during the event itself. Safe to say, our team felt very accomplished when the show came to an end, and we got to witness all the hard work we put in and hear the excitement it caused as the audience roared along with the songs and continued to talk about the event in the following days.
