Project OverView
For this project, I worked directly with Cedarville University's student body chaplain, Ethan, to bring his year-long Genesis sermon series to life visually. I designed a clean cover aesthetic for the series, built flexible slide decks tailored for his preaching, and created social-first graphics to keep students connected on Instagram.
To see some of these used throughout one of Ethan's sermons, or to hear one of the sermons, you can below!
THe Process
Every year, the current student body chaplain walks Cedarville University's chapel through a sermon series, preaching on a passage roughly every two weeks. An issue that had been encountered was that the sermons weren't being taken as seriously as a series from the bible faculty or another speaker, because the student body couldn't see the series visually represented well. To solve this issue, I suggested that we create sermon graphics to further communicate the message to the student body. After conferring with Ethan, we approached our leader and proposed the idea, and we got approval to move ahead with it!
Following this, Ethan and I discussed the central theme of the series, which is God's Glory Going Global. Since the spread of the gospel moves across the globe to all nations, the visual language of maps seemed to help best communicate this! I then created a set of graphics for the chapel screens, announcement formats, custom-built slide templates for Ethan to put his points into, and Instagram-centered marketing to communicate sermon points and announcements with the student body.
